Hot on the heels of things I started and am trying to finish is this little number…

it's a comic book idea i came up with a couple years ago as a poster for a kids room on a movie that never made it in the movie… I always like the drawing i did of the sloth so i thought i'd finally flesh some of it out…

so here is the human sloth, Morty and his arch villain/ girlfriend Manta Queen!

Face Hugger!!!!

I drew an Octopus… It looked lonely… like it needed a hug… a face hug… thus "Face Hug? was born… I think when i get in the mood i will make a sculpture of this drawing… i love the idea of tons of Octopi swarming the earth looking to hug faces… not knowing that the human population will surely die from suffication… them octopi hug tight...

The Further Adventures of Ron

Remember way back when? When i had this stellar idea for a stop motion show centered around the adventures of Ron Burgundy pre the Anchorman movie we sooooo love?

WELL…

I finally got around to making the puppet for this aforementioned show…

it was really fun to make… styling clothes, making a tiny mustache…

i thought it'd be a great piece to have on like the dvds to the sequel they had announced doing… then that got scrapped... all i have is my dream i guess.

But it was fun to make.. i even recreated the channel 4 news team background to make it official;)

El Diablo

So... I have been privileged enough to have worked with some amazing Production Designers/ Art Directors in my year of Artin' here in Wilmington… Well my current gig has put me in the office with one Bill Sandell… He's great… A real artist making art out of TV fodder. Well he and a friend, Giacomo Ghiazza have written this AWESOME treatment for a movie… well I got to read it and I LOVED IT! so i got inspired to doodle a little something in honor of it's awesomeness… enjoy!

Counting Sheep

Why do we count sheep to fall asleep? I tend to get so wrapped up in how the sheep are getting over the fence to freedom that I stay up even longer. So I figured I would put my ideas to good use. I think I will stop-motion animate this someday.

I just found out... I'M GONNA BE A PAPA!!!! it's sex is unknown and will stay that way until the day of it's birth... which will be in October sometime... until then here is our awesome announcement...

Back in the oil clay pit...

It has been forever since I really got into a sculpture out of oil clay... Sculpty has been my medium of choice for a while now but I got a commission to do a bust of a friend's dog and I have to say I LOVE the finished product.  I have a new found LOVE for working in the scale it was done in and in oil clay in general... enjoy The Mighty Brigus!

My Sculpting Chops...

So I go back and forth a lot on whether I should draw a character or scene or should I get out my Sculpty and get to molding... lately I have wanted the warmth of the clay in my fingers I guess. So for the past 2 weeks I have been hard at work... please to enjoy...

This drawing came to me after seeing a picture of Katy Perry... then I thought I'd make my wife in her outfit... and hey who doesn't love rawker girl sculptures huh? If you don't... you're dumb!

Pinkie the shaved beaver... is a character I came up with for a cartoon called Stupid Hampsters

still in development... ;)

These little guys are actually based on a lunchbox sketch I did for my little girl's lunch... they make me laugh...

Then there is ELMER... he's kinda part Max from where the wild things are and part trouble maker in his own way... I want his outfit...

IDOLS!

So, I had this idea a long while back... let's say years ago... to do a painting of PRINCE! He's too cool for words and has been most my life... anyway I have always had this drawing in mind and have tried to attempt it many times... I just couldn't get the look in his eyes right... I finally got it now... if you have ever seen him up close do "the prince scream" he's a mad man in the eyes... good gawd I loves me some Prince...

I can say the came for JAY-Z (HOVA, JIGGA, YOUNG, S. CARTER)... This man IS a mad man... Any guy who can listen to a beat, think for about 30 seconds, then walk into a booth and rap, not write anything down, and REMEMBER that rhyme.. IS INSANE!!! genius... pure genius! So this painting came from the want to capture his genius... simple not flashy...

Ok so... This is my michael jackson post... when i was a kid, like so many others... i LOVED the man... really... i remember playing the tape so much i wore the words right off... i had this little brown tape player with a handle and i carried it with me everywhere and that tape was in it... the victory tour was my very first concert... i saw michael in concert... i'll be it a very tiny michael since our seat were forever away in mile high stadium... but i saw him... yup he had his pitfalls and hell he doesn't look the same anymore... try explaining that to my 7 year old... but all in all he was and will be the best... D.I.P. (dance in peace)
